We just started discussing it at outreach@.

The deadline for organization applications is January 23rd. I spoke with Josh Simmons (at GSoC), who is enthusiastic about renewed Debian participation as well.

In order to proceed, we need to have mentors and projects to submit with our organization application.

In short, if we want to do this, time to start asking people to mentor. :) Pinging people who submitted to being outreachy mentors[1], but did not end up with an intern this round, would be good places to start, I think, as well as an open call.

I'll send emails to the mentors who didn't end up with interns. There are some really interesting projects there!
An open call for proposals would be good but I can't post to debian-devel-announce, which seems like the most logical place for such a message.
Could one of the DDs on this list send out a call for proposals?

Thanks,
Jacob
