Can you spare this bug which is about the mysql connector with this
info? It's not related to this bug and besides that it#'s bad advice.

Debian contains the JDK. No need for oracle-java8-installer

Debian contains libmysql-java which is the same for MySQL.

and as that client should be able to connect to MariaDB databases...
