I wouldn’t have filed it if other games crashed too.
I won’t remove libreoffice-gtk3 if it works with it. The solution was in the presence of this recommended package. If LO crashes back when other games crash too, I’ll tell you but I never saw LO crash because of the nVidia driver (I use the long life version) or a conflict with X but I understand that it may happen (you’re the maintainer, after all, not me).
Note that there is no composite mode in my XFCE session.
