That warning is about the *Gtk* theme (afaik) though, not about LOs icon theme.
So again: what is your Gtk theme? the default (adwaita) or something else (oxygen?)

No, you didn't need to.

libreoffice-gtk2 existed and is the replacement.

Even with the "coming back" libreoffice-gtk that one is (basically) empty and
just there for hepling the transition to libreoffice-gtk2.

OK, that is a important info, though.

You you still didn't give a backtrace from gdb. See the URL I posted earlier...

And you still didn't give a step-by step instruction how to cause this
to reproduce.

I tried creating a Test1.odt with "just" Test1 as content, a Test2.odt with
"just" Test2 as content and then adding a hyperlink to Test1.odt from Test2.
Works for me. With Gtk3.

And you probably really should try with NOT the nvidia binary drivers. :)
