This was now fixed upstream in master (means: for 4.3):

Given you say yourself that

11:24 < twb> I would have used minor but I thought that was too strong, since 
             it is very hard for that typo to actually cause problem for a user

I don't think it's worth backporting it to the packages. If upstream also
backports it - fine, though :)
