Thanks for your comments, Rene. I wasn't aware that LO has its own set of locale data, and as regards your example, it looks like LO finds the el_GR dictionaries without the el_CY symlinks when the system locale is el_CY. But please note that the dictionaries are also used by other applications, so the el_CY symlinks make some difference in e.g. Firefox and gedit (please see attachments). I don't know, though, if the same kind of automatic dictionary selection based on the system locale, as works in LO, is in place in other applications. Maybe we should drop a few symlinks from the list due to which locale data are shipped with LO. (OTOH they wouldn't hurt.) I was heavily involved in preparing lo-dicts in Ubuntu to make it possible to sync with Debian, so I'm jointly responsible for this issue which is a regression in Ubuntu 16.04, and I'm anxious to have it fixed soon. What is it you consider to be wrong? Was it wrong to - spend considerable time in an attempt to help fixing the issue? - use a PPA to verify certain aspects of the proposal? > *You* are based on Debian, not us on you. So it is. But your remarks make me wonder what kind of working relationship you want to set. -- Gunnar Hjalmarsson https://launchpad.net/~gunnarhj
