Well, I don't think anyone can check this with "just" that info.

What does gdb and/or strace say (see README.Debian and
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugReport/Debug_Information#GNU.2FLinux:_How_to_get_an_strace_log

If it was a general problem it'd have been reported already *and* as you
say below it's even writer-specific...

Interesting.

(In this case you probably want to run soffice --writer for strace instead
of "just" soffice)
