Package: lmodern Version: 2.004.2-1 Severity: normal After installing package lmodern, the Latin Modern font is available in LibreOffice as "LMSans10" and so on. Using this font for a text including quotation marks and exporting to PDF however leads to a broken display of the quotation marks, shifted horizontally into the neighboring letters. Consequently, the font cannot reliably be used with LibreOffice. (Moreover, the entire font is embedded instead of only a subset, so the PDF file has a very large file size) However, if I copy the .otf font files from /usr/share/texmf/fonts/opentype/public/lm/ to my local font directory ~/.fonts, restart LibreOffice and use the now available font name "LM Sans 10" and so on (with spaces) for the same text, the text in the PDF file displays as expected and the font is only embedded as a subset, leading to a small PDF file size. -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.4 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-686-pae (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages lmodern depends on: ii dpkg 1.16.12 ii tex-common 3.15 ii xfonts-utils 1:7.7~1 lmodern recommends no packages. lmodern suggests no packages. -- no debconf informationAttachment: broken_quotation_marks.pdf

Hello, This bug seems resolved since version 4.0.2, which have been dropped for a long time now. If the problem occurs again we can always reopen this bug. Regards, -- Stéphane Aulery
