Bug#780607: TrueType Hebrew fonts have stopped working in Writer
Package: libreoffice-writer
Version: 1:3.5.4+dfsg2-0+deb7u3
Severity: normal
Until recently, I had Hebrew support working properly - all the Hebrew fonts I
had installed would work properly with Writer. Some recent update (freetype?)
seems to have badly broken font support: many of my installed fonts no longer
display. Type1 fonts seem to still work (e.g., all the ones in culmus-fancy,
although some only display boxes, while some display properly - I don't know if
the ones displaying boxes used to work, as I didn't use them), but not TrueType
ones (e.g., none of the TrueType ones in culmus (I really need Frank Ruehl)
work, although the type1 ones (e.g. Nachlieli) are fine). The TT ones don't
display at all - no boxes, just nothing.
The ones that don't work in Writer work fine elsewhere on the system (e.g., in
the mousepad editor).
