Actually I am not sure:
The Recommends: was introduced in
commit 2979e82301ce6547a7f2919f50e1b094ab981caa
Author: Rene Engelhard <rene@debian.org>
Date: Thu Apr 23 13:26:14 2009 +0200
recommend xfonts-mathml
where the changelog says:
+ - make openoffice.org-common recommends xfonts-mathml (closes: #525245)
Looking at the bug it it's because of "Symbol", which neither fonts-stix or fonts-lyx
(which also is mentioned in xfonts-mathmls description..) provides afaics?
Needs to be investigated some more it seems.
