If I try to open an offending file with 4.1.4, it complains about a corrupt file, attempts to recover and then fails with "The file $(ARG1) could not be repaired and therefore cannot be opened", and then "General error". This is both better (because it recognises the corruption) and worse (because now I can't open the file at all). If I open the "repaired" xls file the behaviour is unchanged. -- Andrew Gallagher Internetworking and Security Engineer, Ward Solutions Ltd.
