That sounds like a massive change. Like upgrading 4.1.6->4.2.4,
which does that change (btw, I don't think you mean the splash screen
but the start center...).
Did you upgrade while LO was running (e.g. in the background, e.g.
the quickstarter).
Which will open the already running LO,not a new one.. That explains your
drastic change,
(And it would actually make this a 4.1.6->4.2.4 upgrade after all.)
Otherwise, no idea.
