The man page should say how to start on e.g., slide 45 right from the
command line.

Just like one can say
$ emacs +99999 filename
to start on it's 99999th line.

The man page shouldn't describe stuff wich doesn't exist
from the command line, no.

There's -show only and it starts from slide 1.
