Well... Libreoffice isn't just a plain text editor, right? So I guess
someone who has a large scientific or thesis paper, with gazillions of
styles, will probably disagree when he's lost hours of formatting work
that one can never easily get back.

hmm.... obviously not your fault,... but that's not the first time I've
encountered such a "loosing stuff on save" bug in Libreoffce
(respectively OOo)... perhaps they should add some testing for that...
I mean these bugs really bite people... especially when one isn't lucky
and doesn't notice them immediately.
