Package: libreoffice-core, libreoffice-gnome and all libreoffice packages
version: 1:3.5.4 + dfsg-4

When I use apt-get to remove libreoffice packages completely, gnome also gets removed hence asking me to auto-remove all the other utillities.

The need for removing libreoffice completely is to replace version 3.5.4 with the latest verion 4.0.3.3 from the libreoffice website directly.

I am using Debian Wheezy 7.0.0, Debian 3.2.41-2 i686, Linux version 3.2.0-4-686-pae

This meta-package depends on the standard distribution of the GNOME
desktop environment, plus a complete range of plugins and other
applications integrating with GNOME and Debian, providing the best
 possible environment to date.
--- snip ---

This is a meta-package. The whole sense is to install what the GNOME people think
is a full system. And this includes libreoffice.

"gnome" itself is empty. It sanely can be removed.

Not a bug in either LO or GNOME.

Uhm, you know that there will be a 4.0.3 in wheezy-backports, soon? Obviously not :-)

Anyway, closing.

Rene
