The font doesn't matter. In fact, I don't have Helvetica either, but
LibreOffice lets you input Helvetica as a name and seems to pick a
substitute. I've seen it also with Nimbus Sans L, but yeah, I don't
think the font is that relevant.

You have to add several text fields and then it seems a bit random. Some
times it hits right away, sometimes not. During one session with gdb, I
couldn't make it trigger at all, during two others it was fairly
reliable to reproduce.

I've not tried those other packages, yet. I'm running what comes by
default with testing. Nothing extra. I'll give them a whirl as soon as I
figure out how.
Seems to me if it is fixed upstream, you'd want to backport the fix to
3.5.4 as shipped with Wheezy.
