Unfortunately, the name "oosplash.bin" strongly suggests to people that its
main function is in fact to pop up a splash screen.

Since the problem shows up when LO has been running for some time and no
splash screen is visible anywhere, my statement is factually correct --
even though it turns out that it has nothing to do with the sentence which
I quoted. :-/
