Seems another problem that affects people with old generation Intel graphic driver: i have an i855. Can you confirm Andreas? And i suspect that Mesa is also involved (we all have 7.11), since in the same time frame i've experienced corruption problems (resolved with the latest Mesa 7.11.2-1) and a Firefox crash that happen on some flash-based sites (still present: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42611), and that seems related to Mesa. In general the problem here doesn't happen only in the start page (at least for me), but also inside every LibreOffice's programs. For example, try to open Writer and make sure your toolbar doesn't fill the entire space (as happened to the bug submitter). Then open another program (better with many colors in its main windows, like a website inside Firefox), and then switch back to Writer. What i see is attached: in the empty space leaved by toolbars i can see portion of the previous opened program (Firefox). Opposite to the Firefox bug i reported above, LibreOffice doesn't reports nothing if the program is opened from the console. I don't know what's the better thing to do to make this aware to the right people: are we sure it's a LibreOffice bug? Should we report this bug upstream? Or to Mesa devel? I took the liberty to CC this message to some graphic expert like Cyril and Julien, asking them for an advice. Ah, before i forget, at work i've tried LibreOffice 3.5.0-beta2 from experimental on an i915 laptop, that seems to exibit the same problem. But i was in hurry and i've just opened the LO start page, seeing some corruption, with no further tests. So take this to be verified.
