I'd bet that OOo thinks you type in english, and there "I" is a correct word,
and i gets corrected to that ;)

You mean something more ancient than 3.2.1? I think t he better check is
whether this would be present in *newer* (LibreOffice) versions, but as
said, I don't think this is a bug at all.
