Oh, and maybe you should upgrade your system to something sane and not
keep it at something months ago? Where a apt-get install --reinstall of something
probably won't work because it was superseded by something new.
What apt does in this case is what I don't know, but given that it upgrades
a lot of other packages....
Not sure what vlc's version history is - maybe it stayed the same from the ancient
sid copy you have to today?
