If nfs itself would be broken yes, that wouzld be important, but unfs? no,

This is bad, yes, but again, it would be bad only if you used nfs correctly *and*
it then doesn't work.

(Those option only work around the symptom anyway, and doesn't fix it. The fix is to 
use a proper NFS implementation)
