In what version? With what change? I bet that is just a side-effect on
whatever else change.

The only notes I have on past versions is this:I installed
Libreoffice RC2 from a ubuntu depository in ubuntu running in a
virtualboxose system. It was version 3.3.0. I found that the
toolbars in Base were all screwed up. It could have been under
ubuntu 10.04 and/or maverick; I tried it in both, my notes aren't
clear on detail. That version was installed from the launchpad PPA.

Yes, and? With "but that has been fixed for weeks (at least the lucid version;"
you claim that it has been fixed. In what version? What upgrade? (there's dpkg.log
etc). Unless you prove that I just think it's the usual propaganda.

Thanks for the tip. I'll see what I can get out of dpkg.log, etc.

You're right, that was an assumption on my part, but something is
causing the toolbars to fail.

Maybe, yes.

There's no OpenOffice. And that they are not installable alongside is a given
fact given ghat the LibreOffice website version is not completely integrated
into Debian, whereas Debian's LibreOffice is. LibreOffice is the future and
Debian will only ship that one, live with it.

I have no problem switching to LibreOffice. I just wish the current
version did not have this bug.

And why did you complain then?
Because my system exhibits a bug, and I wished to help fix it.

(Besides that I personally think using Base for anything serious is a
bug per se, but...)
Base works OK for my application and also acts as a front end to e.g. MySQL.

René
