That was not the question. You still use the proprietary nvidia driver form non-free
(se nvidia-glx and the nvidia modules being there). I asked what happens if you
used an other driver than that (like nv or in emergency vesa).
But it seems the answer is not needed anymore.

So you don't use the standard theme. That would both be Oxygen.
But OK, good to know.
(That said, Quartz and Plastique combined works for me here.)
