An other alternative (though making this change more intrusive now, but lesser
in the future) would be to just take the files from your .zip and create
the packages from them instead of OOos code. I prefer to have people speaking
the langauge (and actually maintaining the patterns is a plus) to maintain
the package.
(For that you need to add a "readable" version of the README file/the license,
though)

openoffice.org-dictionaries also doesn't contain additional patterns/dicts from
what is in OOos code, as the basis for it is just the dictionaries/ module
of OOo. Anything else is supposed to be packages separately (ideally by
someone speaking the language, see above).
