Yes.
So it's not a bug but a wish to have the old behaviour back. Which you have to
fight with upstream, not me :)
You could file an issue there - but as this was a deliberate change I don't think
they'll change it back.

And I think it's minor. Or because it is a wish to revert a deliberate change
