"apt-get dist-upgrade", "aptitude dist-upgrade" and "aptitude
full-upgrade" all give the same error as "safe-upgrade".

"apt-get dist-upgrade" and "aptitude dist-upgrade" also want to do
crazy things from time to time... IMHO giving an explicit list of
packages to "apt-get install" is still the most reliable way to upgrade,
but this is getting off topic.
