If at all,  the bug is in the new version... Not the old..
Please add correct versions here, the BTS version tracking relies on

As I don't have a system that old anymore, I tried a lenny -> squeeze
upgrade, which failed with an other error. (Of course it later might have
hit this one, no idea yet)

Thus + unreproducible for now.

??? Why is that on that ancient version? Didn't you do proper dist-upgrades?
If you had OOo 1:3.0.1-9 you also should have ttf-opensymbol 1:3.0.1-9.
(not that it is related to this problem, but..)
