Something like:
If you want to open documents created with M$ Word, you may need
to install the non-free fonts from M$ (ttf-mscorefonts-installer).
Note that if some fonts are missing, OpenOffice won't tell you
and the document may not appear as designed by its author.

But the main problem is that people are not necessarily aware that
they need M$ fonts: the documents may look wrong, but there's no
indication from OpenOffice of the cause of the problem. Silently
replacing a font by another is really really bad.
