In http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=104088 this was discussed
upstream and we have a prospective patch. Can you try whether it works for you?
I put the 3.1.1rc2 odbc libs with that patch to
http://people.debian.org/~rene/openoffice.org/test/539642/. Can you replace
those files /usr/lib/openoffice/basis3.1/program), kill all OOos and try again?
Should also work in a 3.1.0 install, or you install 3.1.1rX from experimental.
