Bug#522090: openoffice.org-kde: Unable to open or save files on smb:// shares with KDE fpicker
Package: openoffice.org-kde
Version: 1:2.4.1-17+b1
Severity: normal
How to reproduce:
Turn off "Use Openoffice.org dialogs" in Options / Openoffice.org / General
1. Use File/Open dialogue to navigate to a smb:// resource.
Attempt to open a .doc or .odt file there
What should happen: file opens for editing
What actually happens: nothing. Dialogue silently closes but doc
is not opened.
2. Open a new document in oowriter
Use File/Save dialogue to navigate to an smb:// share and attempt
to save as "test.odt"
What should happen: file saved in SMB share
What actually happens: Error dialogue: "Error saving the document
test: Nonexistent object. Path to the file does not exist."
I have tried both a Microsoft server share with M$ authentication
(to which I am already authenticated by having browsed to it in Konqueror)
and with a guest Samba share on localhost.
I have tried setting SAL_ENABLE_FILE_LOCKING=0 to eliminate locking issues.
