After upgrading to openoffice.org 1.1.1 ans starting openoffice from
a normal user account I have got:

tom@pc63:~$ openoffice  
/usr/bin/openoffice: line 1: /.lock: Permission denied
/usr/bin/openoffice: line 1: /.lock: Permission denied
Lockfile /.lock found
OpenOffice.org is already running as user  on host 
Please shut down all instances of soffice.bin and OOo quickstarter and
try again.


tom@pc63:~$ ls -la /.lock 
-rw-------    1 root     root            0 Jul 25  2001 /.lock


pc63:~# rm /.lock 
pc63:~# exit
logout
tom@pc63:~$ openoffice 
OpenOffice.org for Debian - see
/usr/share/doc/openoffice.org/README.Debian.gz
Previous version found: OpenOffice.org 1.0.3
upgrading openoffice.org user configuration...
Setup complete.  Running openoffice.org...

Starting configuration import into user data ..
.. importing layer file:///tmp/oooLocale.XXXXbJqzld - succeeded

Here the program start OK. I have no idea from where I have got /.lock.

I can't reproduce it on a Lenny system with version 3.0.1.
