Was -java-common installed?

rene@mini:~$ grep -r UNO_JAVA_JFW_VENDOR_SETTINGS .openoffice.org2rene@mini:~$ grep UNO_JAVA_JFW_VENDOR_SETTINGS /usr/lib/openoffice/program/*rc/usr/lib/openoffice/program/jvmfwk3rc:UNO_JAVA_JFW_VENDOR_SETTINGS=$BaseInstallation/share/config/javavendors.xm

What was your value there?

Something in your config is seriously broken.

That's what the coment today, was about.

Not surprisiing, since they didn't do (yet) stuff with Java on their
maintainer scripts in 2.4. (They will for 3.1, though, where they also got
a -writer2latex package). Or (in the -emailmerge case, any
extension). (That changed with 3.0)

And please: try with -17/-17+b1 and/or 3.0.1 and try with a clean sytem.

Rene
