That ...bpo... version was installed a long time ago. I'm running etch, so it is still never than the etch'es stable version (however, older than the current backports version).
If I knew the version I should try out, I would. But, according to the issue 16036 above, a newer version wouldn't help.
By the way, exporting to HTML has the same problem, i.e. animation remains unimplemented.
