Bug#491638: hunspell: apparently doesn't handle English contractions
Package: hunspell
Version: 1.2.5-1
Severity: normal
I was looking at using hunspell instead of ispell for automated spell
checks of documentation, but ran into the serious problem that it
apparently can't handle English contractions. This seems like a fatal
flaw in a spell-checker to me. Am I missing something?
windlord:~> echo "isn't" | ispell -d american -l
windlord:~> echo "isn't" | hunspell -d en_US -l
isn
A Google search turns up a bunch of people complaining about the same
behavior in Firefox, which apparently recently switched to hunspell.
