Hmm. And OOo documents? I.e. not M$ ones?

Uh, no it hasn't. That bug is about the usability (wish to sort it) of
the filter dialog itself. And it's not a bug at all, just some people
who are too lazy to read through the list...

I don't think that this affects it as 2.4.1 was a minr bufix release,
but can you try getting your system into a consistent state and upgrade
all OOo packages to 2.4.1-6?
I was able to open documents just fine with 2.4.1-6, so tagging it
unreproducible. (And if it was a general problem, it would have been
reported far earlier...)
