What happens if you try to paste directly? Does that also produce the crash?

If there is no crash, I would be inclined to think these are, in fact, the same bug.

Also, I have found that I can "work around" this issue by not using enter
(for instance, moving to a new cell with the right or down arrow keys
avoids the spurious paste). Is that also true in your case?
