There are others (sablevm, kaffee). sun-java(5,6)-jre are in non-free.

I was more thinking about openoffice.org-officebean depending on
java-runtime(1,2) and not on a particular.

These discussion only show (to me), that openoffice.org-dev ! should
probably depend on openoffice.org-officebeans but not the office suite
itself.
Only Developers need that. The vast majority of the users is forced to
install an additional 50 MB and will never need this kind of functionality.

I know that openoffice.org is a metapackage but selecting each modules
on their own is cumbersome.
Why is Recommends or Suggests not an option? (I personally would vote
for Suggests).
