Severity: wishlist

In AbiWord it is possible to remove some properties from styles; for example one can remove the font-family property and only change font-size and font-weight. The font-family is then taken from the style it is based on.

In OpenOffice Writer all heading styles (Heading1, Heading2...) are based on a common Heading super-style. They all define the same font-family (e.g. Arial) and only change the font-size and font-style.

But if I want to change the font-family of headings to e.g. Bitstream Vera Sans I have to manually change the font properties of all the heading styles. It would be great if I could only change the font-family of the Heading style and let the others (Heading1, Heading2...) rely on that one.

As in OpenOffice all font properties are accessible from the same dialog box, as soon as I change one property (font-size) all other ones are also stored in the style. In my opinion we should be provided a finer-grain control.

Vincent

Dear openoffice.org user,

Thanks for your interest in OO.org and the bug report you have contributed.

Your bug report [0] was done for a version which is now quite old (pre
version 2.0.0).

During the last 6 weeks I sent 3 requests to update this bug report, and verify
that this bug still exists with a more up to date version of OO.org.

Since the bug is quite old, and I didn't get any response regarding this bug,
I'm closing it. I'm using the current unstable version for proving version info.

If you'll find this bug to still exist in a future version of OO.org, please
reopen the bug and specify the affected version.. Let me know if you need help
with this process.
