Bug#427996: i confirm this issue for version 2.2.1-5

but i would like to add the KDE's font installer is showing only the following 
fonts for DejaVu Sans: Bold, Bold Oblique, Oblique, UltraLight.

kwrite has the folowing families for DejaVu Sans: Light,Light Italic, 
Regular,Italic,Bold, Bold Italic.

and gnome-font-properties shows:
ExtraLight, Condensed, Book, Condensed Oblique, Oblique, Condensed Bold, Bold, 
Condensed Bold Oblique, Bold Oblique.

i wonder what does it mean ? and what algorithm is used in each case to show 
font families that are installed and available on the underlying system.
