Pass fix to upstream?

Hello folks,
You may not be aware of this, but something you clever folk have done
has fixed the following bug in OpenOffice:
http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=62093
The bug in question is about being able to *correctly* read in
DocBook documents.

The bug definitely doesn't occurr in Debian's 2.0.2 OpenOffice,
but it still does occur in the "official" version of OpenOffice (from
OpenOffice.org) even in version 2.2. The upstream version, as
described in that bug, saves to DocBook okay, but loses the formatting
when it reads in a DocBook document.

Do you know what it was that you did? How you fixed it?
Would you consider giving upstream the fix?

I would really like this fix to be generally available, since I am
working in an office environment where the official Linux used is
CentOs, not Debian (and I'm not in a position to change that policy).
And being able to edit DocBook with OpenOffice would be a boon.

Thanks.
