Which graphics driver do you use? Nvidia proprietary? (The strace log seems to imply that?) Can you try with OPENGL_SUPPORT=yes set to no? (and maybe auto, for that matter, but on systems with nvidias/ATIs driver it probably will make it enabled) (Create a /etc/openoffice/soffice.sh for that if you want that preerved) And please try to use the "normal" nvidia driver, too And try yes, no, auto, too.
