Bug#419095: myspell-en-us installed, no dictionaries available
Package: openoffice.org
Version: 2.0.4.dfsg.2-7
Severity: normal
I'm unable to spellcheck documents in OpenOffice, presumably because no
dictionaries appear in the Tools > Language menu. However the
myspell-en-us package is installed.
Perhaps this is because my locale is en_CA.UTF-8, vs. en_US.UTF-8?
However I'd still expect the Tools > Language menu to list available
languages, like en_US.
As a wishlist item, when I choose Tools > Spellcheck, a widget pops up
claiming the spellcheck is complete, though it wasn't actually
performed. It would be nice if this widget reported a more informative
error, like no dictionaries available.
Thanks for maintaining OpenOffice! Jack
