Wrong. -gcj is just for acceleration for the gcj case. You can just choose the gij JRE ("Free Software Foundation") in the options and use gcj. That Suns JDKs (5 and 6) do not work (only on amd64, though) is known, but that's apparently a Sun JDK bug and as Sun JDK is binary-only this is not even fixable so I won't reassign but just close this bug. amd64 -> use gcj Rest -> choice (but better use gcj) Regards, Rene P.S: it's openoffice.org, not openoffice.
