Bug#335897: openoffice.org-core: similar problem _not_ solved
Package: openoffice.org-core
Version: 2.0.4-5
Followup-For: Bug #335897
Problem described in the original post persists independent on firewall (started or
stopped; settings allow for all ports, but checked nevertheless).
No suspicious entries in /var/log/kern.log on any of the involved machines.
Maybe the mount options play a role, so I give mine:
jw@johannes2:~$ mount |grep athene
192.168.0.47:/atheneraid/tausch on /tausch type nfs
(rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,hard,intr,addr=192.168.0.47,user=jw)
jw@johannes2:~$ grep athene /etc/fstab
192.168.0.47:/atheneraid/tausch /tausch nfs noauto,user,hard,intr 0 0
My rpcinfo:
jw@johannes2:~$ rpcinfo -p 192.168.0.47

This bug makes openoffice unusable on workstations with nfs mounted
directories.

NB: using debian etch or backported version of openoffice on sarge (both
affected); nfs exporting machine is sarge.
