When I try to install this package, it conflicts with the entire openoffice.org suite and asks to remove them.

The dependencies need to be resolved for debian/unstable or new installs of openoffice.org will not be able to have openoffice.org-help-en-us or openoffice.org-help-en

I am using Kanotix-2006-1-rc3, kernel 2.6.18-slh-up-1, and libc6 2.3.6.ds1-4

Probably because you use either i386, powerpc or sparc and the package
isn't yet build there.

and this is the wrong BTS for Kanotix anyway...
