Bug#316711: Solution?

I was having the same problem as you describe in bug #316711 at 
http://lists.debian.org/debian-openoffice/2005/07/msg00006.html only the 
system I found it on is RedHat 7.3 and OO 1.1.4.  I found a solution for 
it, which is to turn off accounting in the cups filter.  vi 
/usr/lib/cups/filter/cupsomatic, find the $ps_accounting = 1 line, and 
change the 1 to a 0.  OO was the only app on my system that printed 
preceeding blank pages.  It solved the problem on my system; hope it 
helps you as well.
