Bug#328864: openoffice.org: curly quotes disappear when pasting into Emacs or Xterm
Package: openoffice.org
Version: 1.1.4-7
Severity: normal
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create or open a document and put some curly quotes in it. (I imported a
Word document with curly quotes.)
2. Select a segment of text containing curly quotes.
3. Paste segment into Emacs or Xterm.
Expected behavior:
(first choice) Curly quotes are changed to straight quotes in pasted text,
e.g.:
She said, "Don't eat the pudding!" in a loud voice.
(second choice) Curly quotes remain as funny characters in pasted text.
Actual behavior:
Curly quotes disappear entirely, e.g.:
She said, Dont eat the pudding! in a loud voice.
Straight quotes copy-and-paste fine.
Thanks very much for your help. It is really great to have OO.org available on
my system.
