Bug#308371: OpenOffice fails to maximise properly when used under Window Maker

I'm seeing some similar and/or related behaviors when running OOo under
WindowMaker:

  - When starting up OOo, I'd experienced my system "freezing" for a
period of time, with X being unresponsive to keyboard and mouse
inputs. Switching to a console would work.

I discovered that what's happening is that an undecorated window is
being overlayed over the entire X session. It reproduces the
existing X image, giving the appearance of a freeze. Under
WindowMaker, an <alt>+<left-click-hold> allows dragging this window
to a partial off-screen location so that it's possible to interact
    with the existing X session.

  - I get similar issues with resized windows under OOo, where the
registration of the OOo window within the windowmanager's window is
offset left or right of the containing borders. Usually this
results in the menu bar being partially obscured, e.g.: 'File' and
'Edit' are not visible. Sometimes resizing or maximizing the window
    fixes this, sometimes not.

Peace.
