Bug#329971: New Italian dictionary version available
Hi Rene,

Now there is the new stable version 2.2 that correct a lot of errors and
include a lot of new correct words
Aha. Hmm. And OOo 1.9.x/2.0 also contains only 2.1. Will look. When
yes, now the Italian dictionary is under GPL only, so OOo will not
update it into its trees (now OOo is issued with LGPL/GPL licenses).
You can find new version on OOo site (after few months ... the time
needed for the update)
1.9.x enters sid myspell-it will become 2.1 anyway and I'll look about
updating the copy with 2.2.
it is better to have the 2.2 version because (diff it_2.1 it_2.2)
bytes number of string
string removed 13.428.538 785.297
string added 21.610.286 1.104.051
Actually this dictionary version is been used in Debian as Aspell
dictionary (aspell-it)
Is it possible to build myspell-it directly from that source püackage
then? That would be a good solution and ensures it always will be
up-to-date.
no, the Aspell dictionary is created from the MySpell one and some
things are deleted, others are modified and the documentations for
Aspell is a nonsense here
Normally I issue a new version of Italian dictionary each 1-2 months. If
you would like to have an up-to-date version I can open a bug report
(wishlist) each time.
