Bug#304101: "Inadmissible path" bug in openoffice.org v1.1.2

Hi Rene,

Thanks for your reply

[..]
using OpenOffice.org 1.1.2 I get this error popup when I try and use English dictionary.

Exactly which version? And can you please try 1.1.3 which is in sarge
for some weeks now?....

I do not know what version the dictionary was, the package name was not
displayed as part of the error. I presume it comes with openoffice.org
packages? If you know the name of the English localisation package could
you let me know for my records please.

Ok, I just upgraded my openoffice to 1.1.3, i did all the default
upgrade of packages. I do not get the error popup now. Perhaps it now automatically gets the en_GB dictionary? On the spellcheck dialog it looks the same, but English(US) and English (UK) both lit up in the list.

"Inadmissible path.
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/autotext/english_uk does not exist"

1) For some reason the English dictionary was not installed.

Of course not. Install it. It is suggested by openoffice.org and
openoffice.org-l10n-en.

Could you tell me where it is suggested by openoffice.org-l10n-en please?
(I read all the apt-cache show openoffice.org-l10n-en text but could not
seem any mention of dictionaries.)

Is there reason why when I select a british english install. When I set
my locale to en_GB, when I setup X with gb keyboard and kde in en_GB
that English dicitionary does not automatically get installed? Surely
the correct dictionary for the install should be automatically installed?

2) for some reason it has added "_uk" instead of "_gb" to the filename. UK is the ISO country code of Ukraine, last time I checked they did not speak English.

I guess they mean UK as in United Kingdom...

Are you in a position to correct this mistake? Who are "they" btw?

If the text is an abreviation for the United Kingdom the UK is fine.
However in the case of locales and dictionaries ISO 3166 country codes
should be used -- so that should be GB.

N.B. Please include my email address in any replies, as I am not on this
list.

Kind regards
JG
